Well folks its nearly that time on a Friday when I can jump for joy that the working week is over. Its
going to be a busy Friday night as we prepare for our family weekend
away in London. Its my mother-in-law's 75th birthday on Monday so there
will be 12 of us off on a celebratory theater weekend to see Grease and
generally cause Black Country mayhem on the streets of London. I
am keeping my fingers crossed that the awful black country weather we
have had over the last few days does not follow us down, as my shoes
really aren't too waterproof. No doubt I shall be Twittering
like mad from my I-phone over the course of the weekend so feel free to
stalk me from any of my social networking sites listed. Have a wonderful weekend fellow bloggers and don't forget to keep smiling :-) 3月30日 I've been thinking alot recently of my ups and downs in regard to my health and also how this has effected me in regards to my diet and fitness and also my confidence. I've felt over the last few months that something has died within me. I,ve lost those extra bubbles that made me sparkle and although very recently i've felt that some of those bubbles have returned there's something still missing.......Something that will get me excited about life again.
Recently I've become a Twitter addict and this particular form of social networking has really caught my imagination and thoughts in regards to blogging, the whole social networking scene and the information that can be both sent and read.
I am already a member of the Rosemary Conley Diet Club and yesterday started following Rosemary on Twitter. Not sure whether its the 'big brother is watching you' feeling or just the twittering of what she's doing or eating but this really seems to be effecting my eating habits and the way i'm feeling. Maybe its the fact I feel she's with me all the time now - on my desktop computer at both home and at work and also on my I-phone.
Anyway to the point. I know myself how motivating it can be reading a dieters success story including all the trials and tribulations that person has gone through to get to their goal. The before and after scenerio and pictures. But on grabbing my copy of the Rosemay Conley Magazine, the first article I now turn to, is always, "My diet diary" a day to day peek into the life of someone who, like me, is battling with the bulge. The way it has been written is just like a Twitter timeline.
So my thought process's have now turned to changing my space to "My Diet Diary" with all my trials and tribulations, my likes and dislikes, my wishes, my goals, recipe idea's, shopping idea's and obviously jokes (as laughter for me is a very important part of the feel good factor) With the aid of both the blog and twitter and the information constantly being tweeted I will share my thoughts and experiences for all to read and hopefully whoever reads it will be able to do the same. It will hopefully become a support forum for both myself and others. Something not written by an expert - just by a normal everyday working mother and housewife who is 'battling with the bulge'.
Not sure how this thought process will pan out right now or whether this will work on Livespaces. Windows Live certainly seems to have alienated itself in regard to social networking and with all the rules and regulations about what you can and can't do plus all the people on spaces who make life hell for those who do blog I may have to make the move to finally getting to grips with starting my own webpage/blog.
Well folks just thought i'd get my thought process written down before I go ahead and take the plunge

MALE OR FEMALE ??? You might not have known this, but a lot of non-living objects are actually either male or female. Here are some examples: FREEZER BAGS: They are male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them. PHOTOCOPIERS: These are female, because once turned off; it takes a while to warm them up again. They are an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can also wreak havoc if you push the wrong buttons. TYRES: Tyres are male, because they go bald easily and are often over inflated HOT AIR BALLOONS: Also a male object, because to get them to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under their butt. SPONGES: These are female, because they are soft, squeezable and retain water. WEB PAGES: Female, because they're constantly being looked at and frequently getting hit on.. TRAINS: Definitely male, because they always use the same old lines for picking up people. EGG TIMERS: Egg timers are female because, over time, all the weight shifts to the bottom. HAMMERS: Male, because in the last 5000 years, they've hardly changed at all, and are occasionally handy to have around. THE REMOTE CONTROL: Female. Ha! You probably thought it would be male, but consider this: It easily gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he doesn't always know which buttons to push, he just keeps trying
3月9日 Well folks i’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that my hospital trip last Thursday, for both mine and my Mom’s latest Venesection went very well. We were both very good girls, although the nurses have nicknamed us Double Trouble lol. This time there was no sign of any black outs or sickness. However, I must say the nurses did take every precaution they possibly could, which meant not only did we both end up having to lie down rather than being seated but we both also ended up having saline drip’s too (bit of a baby when it comes to needles, i,m afraid, so I wasn’t very chuffed at that suggestion, and it bloody well hurt too – sob, sob) In some ways all the fuss by both myself and the nurses, did make me feel a little embarrassed, especially when in the same ward the majority are cancer patients. 
Weekend was rather good too, accept for our new computer deciding to give up the ghost. So after just 6 weeks in the Hughes household it obviously decided it couldn’t cope anymore lol. Mind you must admit its probably had more like 6 months usage with the amount of hours i’ve spent on it hehe
Busy week this week with my social diary being fit to burst. Very, very unusual for me to have something going on for the majority of the week and god knows what I’ll look like come Saturday with all the drinking that’s involved lol. Will probably have to have a total weekend of rest and detox to get over it as i’m really not used to such a busy night life lol.  
Tuesday – night out with Daughter, Mom and Mother-in-law. Booked us all tickets to see Riverdance http://www.riverdance.com/ at the NIA, Birmingham as a surprise Christmas present. So we are making a full girlie night of it and having a meal at the local Slug and Lettuce http://www.slugandlettuce.co.uk/ before the show. We are all really looking forward to it, especially me as i’ve wanted the chance to see this show for many years.
Wednesday – Ann Summers Party with a few friends I haven’t seen, yet alone been out with, for many many many years. All made possible by the courtesy of the Facebook world. So i’m looking forward to some girly fun as well as replenishing the stocks in my goodie box.. And with hubby away i’m sure it will end up being quite a late night. While the cats away the mice will play and all that or should that be something to do with rabbits lol. Don’t worry i’ll make sure I get a nice treat for Geoff too
Thursday – Jewellery party. Ok – so jewellery may not be as exciting as previous nights attire but the party is being held at a local pub that has not long been taken over by a friend of a friend. With local pubs failing and closing down at a dramatic rate each week, my best drinking buddy and myself are off to keep them in profit by giving them our support. Again, hopefully a few people will be there that I haven’t seen for sometime, and again all due to the wonderful world of Facebook.
Friday – Not only is it Friday 13th – Red Nose Day- but its also my son’s 17th birthday. So with my birthday only being a few days later the whole family are off for some birthday fun at the Swallows Nest, Romsley. http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/theswallowsnestromsley. A lovely old pub where the food is totally fresh and soooo mouth-wateringly delicious that I can almost taste it now. mmmmm can’t wait. 
So there you go folks that’s updated you all on the wellbeing and whereabouts of your Mrs Smiler. I will keep you posted with the events of the week, no doubt I will be writing a long review of tomorrow nights show very soon afterwards

3月1日 Hi again Folks.....OMG 2 blogs in the space of a few hours...... you lucky, lucky people.
Recently i've not been able to keep my hands off the computer...... I think my husband is beginning to wish he could turn himself into a computer so he could have the same effect on me  Now this sudden spurt of interest could be down to quite a few reasons. I've always been one for having a dabble with both hardware and software........ and i'm talking of computers here folks so get your minds out of the gutter for just a little while  My phone is always red hot when friends and family have the odd problems computerwise. Recently, especially within the last week or so, i've rarely been away from the keyboard. Now this could of course be down to me trying to keep my mind occupied and away from thinking of my various health issues but of course it could also have something to do with the purchase of our rather nice, new computer that has obviously drawn me like a magnet to the keyboard both day and night and has had me fixated for hours and hours until the wee hours of the morning. Then that word was bought to my attention Twitter...........
So this week my social networking spread from Windows Live, Facebook and Myspace to Twitter. Yes folks I became a TWITTER and i'm sooooo loving it. Now this too could be down to several factors.......maybe its because the word Twitter or should I say Twit sums me up in just one word. Or it could be down to the fact that it's so simple and easy but so very interesting and absorbing. errrrmmm maybe the first two words sum me up too Anyway I am now following or should i say stalking some very interesting and also very amusing Twitters, my favourite being Stephen Fry who's Tweets are not only amusing but his Twitpics are just wonderful.
Apart from the above this week i've also added to my technology knowledge base Twirl, Adobe Air, Explorer 8,Microsoft One-Note and Microsoft Live Mesh..... so have I now become a Techno Geek or should that be Techno Freak.... i'll let you decide that one while I get back to trying to fathom out the new Student Finance website.... something to which I need to be far more than a Techno Geek to understand........In fact maybe I need a degree in the first place to even use it

Well folks, don't feint, but i'm actually blogging at long last. Yes after a very long spell of deathly silence....... very unusual for me......its March 1st and time to come out of hibernation. Bet you've missed all the men vs women jokes, come on admit it, you have
Well where do I start...... Having had a wonderful end to 2008 with a fab and funfilled Christmas and New Year (piccies will be added soon I promise) I really did think 2009 was going to be a fab year for Mrs Smiler but unfortunately, so far in 2009, life has decided to deal me a bum deal in regard to health issues. Unfortunately within the first few weeks of 2009 I was given the news that I have inherited my Mom's blood disorder, Haemachromotosis. This condition basically means my body is far too efficient at absorbing iron and therefore the iron level within my blood is far, far higher than it should be which causes all sorts of health issues and is maybe one of the main reasons I haven't been feeling too good of late. Iron level's are reduced by having regular Venesections to bring the level back down to normal, something which my Mom has had since her diagnosis last year. Anyway, to cut a long story short I have since visited the consultant and have been told that my ferretin level is very high and so I shall be having Venesections once every 2 weeks. I've already had my first blood letting and unfortunatly I did not cope too well and blacked out twice I have my next one this Thursday alongside my Mom. So although i'm not looking forward to the actual blooding letting itself it will be good to spend time with my Mom having a good old gossip 
Also along with the above i've had some women's problems for quite sometime now...... which I won't go into detail about.......... just a week after receiving the news about the above blood disorder I then got called to the hospital for a Colposcopy. A womans worse nightmare especially being at the time when Jade Goody and the spread of her cervical cancer was being highlighted so much in the news. The 2 week wait for the hospital appointment was not easy, for either myself or my family. However, it was good news and no treatment was required, with just a check up to be done in 6 months time. My heart goes out to Jade and her family and what they are going through now and what they will face in the not so distant future
I'm not one for self pity, as there are always people worse off in the world, but i've really let things get on top of me a little over the last few weeks. Now with all my daughters 'Amy hugs' to make me feel better i've caught her stinking cold lol
Well enough of all this...........Mrs Smiler needs to give all my readers good and positive news and start posting some jokes to keep her and everyone else chuckling again lol. errrmmmm let me think do I start with something rather risky or just a good old man battering joke
I do actually have quite alot to look forward to in 2009, with quite a few outings and long weekends away booked.......more details and no doubt loads of photo's to follow........ so watch this space
